Who participates in these programs and what are they seeking?

We get a great diversity of people on our courses — doctors, activists, lawyers, students, retirees, kids, you name it. The common thread is that everyone comes looking to learn about sustainability and seeking community — and an incredible community does form on nearly every course we run, faq-pinebranchwith life-long friendships often resulting.

What will we be eating during the program?

While in We provide a menu and divide the group into cooking crews. Each day a different cooking group takes turns preparing and making the meals — which greatly helps build community as people spend time cooking together.

Where will we be sleeping during the program?

The accommodations included in the tuition for our programs are usually camping; dorms are also often available for certain workshops (additional fees apply). We tend to camp at host farms or campgrounds with bathroom facilities. We usually provide tents and you just need your own sleeping pad and sleeping bag.

Do you programs involve any kind of therapy?

We have no trained therapists, psychologists or mental health professionals on our staff and our programs are not therapy. Our programs are designed only for emotionally and physically healthy adults who are able to handle living in close quarters with other people for the length of the program, and able to productively process the emotional challenges that arise as part of this experience.

What is your policy if I need to cancel and cannot make it to the course?

For us to offer a flexible refund policy would require a loss of at least a third of our tuition revenues, and thus require raising your tuition fees by at least fifty or more percent to compensate for the supply and demand economics. That would be completely contrary to our mission of making sustainability accessible to those with limited financial means.

Land restoration is not a new concept, but it did not able to make reach to common people. This is very lovely concept that is able to bring an uncultivated land or wasteland into a condition for cultivation or other use. This was just a brief introduction, let’s elaborate it.

What is Land Restoration?




Restoration and Reclamation are used synonymously and consider as same word or concept. But it is slightly different, if we go with dictionary definition we will see the word chosen in defining them clearly define about them.

Reclamation can be defined as: Reclamation is a process of bringing back something from loss or from a less useful condition. So simply it’s all about bringing back the uncultivated land or waste land (for Land Restoration) to a condition of cultivation.

And Restoration is defined as: Restoration is a profession devoted to the preservation of cultural heritage for the future. This work includes support of research and education.

So now we know that what these two words actually says so we can consider Land Restoration as a very wide industry taking care of earth’s wasteland.

So now we will define Land Restoration very precisely: “land Restoration is the process of ecological restoration of a site to a natural habitat and landscape safe for all living creature on the earth”.

Various Steps that includes in Land restoration:
Land Restoration is completely based on a high level analysis of the soil and then developing a strategy supported by research and education.
  • Research Work: To work on a land first of all you must know the soil. This is the most important part of any exercise you want to bring up. Complete research of the soil, like soil type, nutrient level, pH level, water level etc. is done then the report is sent to the next level.
  • Strategies making: Now after getting analysis file, the team of strategist makes a plan, how to improve the land. They will develop how to work strategy.
  • Let’s begin with it: After getting instruction from the strategy making team, the implementation team starts implementing the complete process.
  • Result Time: After a complete process and continuous analysis, work till the land is able to cultivate again.
  • Are we Forgetting Something? Yes of course, a complete report from starting to end, is properly maintained so that it can be used for future reference purpose.
